We recommend: The Mill of Boly, birthplace of Bernadette Soubirous and Le Cachot, prison where Bernadette Soubirous was kept when she had her visions. The 11th-12th century Castle of Lourdes (Count of Bigorres main residence), used as a royal prison during the 18th century and houses a museum of Pyrenean art today. Le Musee du Tresor Liturgique (The Liturgical Treasure Museum) traces the history of the sanctuaries and displays an extensive collection of the 19th century liturgical art. The Gemmail Museum created in 1939. The art of gemmail is a form of artistic expression using glass, colour, and light. And one of the masterpieces of Baroque art in the area, the Betharram Sanctuary, and Betharram Caves, which you can visit by train or small boat.
